[Confluence] Variable $owner or $mentions does not translate into @mention but in raw html

Henning Bree September 5, 2018

Hi all,

I played a lot around with the decision log lately and deleted the $owner and $mentions variable earlier. Now, I wanted to get it back into the template. Unfortunately the mention from the quick input form is translated into raw html:

Is translated into:

grafik.png

The template looks straight forward/like the original:

I obviously tried to google, but I was already struggling with asking the right question. Maybe on that note, how do I customize the input form which pops up, when I create a new decision?

Thanks for your help,

Henning

Hello Henning!
What happened is that the variable $owner has been deleted from the template XML. You could reset the Decision template and the variable will be there again:

1- Go to the affected Space
2- Click Space Tools>Content Tools>Templates
3- Scroll down until you see the Decision template
4- Click Reset to Default
5- Check that the variable is back there

*Before doing this remember to "backup" the changes you made to the template

If you also need to create other templates and have variables in them, you can check this documentation:
- Write an intermediate blueprint plugin

Further, you may want to take a look at this Feature Request:
- Allow for access to common variables in Blueprints templates

Let us know if this helps you out!

Thank you very much, Diego.

I "feared", that the reset is the only viable option but in this case also not a big drama.

Cheers,

Henning
