Confluence Upgrade from 5.6 to 6.13 fails

Michael Hiller October 11, 2019

Hi,

I have upgraded confluence 5.6 to 6.13 and my 10 Users: Starter License is valid until 30. Jan 2020 (Invoice AT-XXXXX).

SEN-XXXXX

After the upgrade I get an HTTP Status 404 error and the log file reports that the license is not valid anymore.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks a lot

- Michael

What worked for me (update from 6.8.3 to 6.13.9):

The log states (the posted one too):

"If you have a new license, please enter it on this page (/<yourcontextpath>/fixonly/fixlicense.action) and restart."

If you use that URL, you get a box to drop your license key into and everything works fine.

Why confluence doesn't makes a re-direct for that is unknown to me.

Hi,

I just edited your question and removed your SEN ID. You need to contact Atlassian support directly as @jira guy said.

Maybe your problem is also in using HSQL DB - I really recommend you to switch regular DBMS like PostgreSQL because HSQL is not for production purposes and also it's not supported by Atlassian support.

So try switch to normal DBMS and then contact Atlassian support - there is KB article for how to switch to another DBMS - https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/migrating-to-another-database-148867.html
