Confluence Upgrade Path From 5.9.4 to 7.19.1

I want to upgrade my Confluence Server version. How do I upgrade from 5.9.4 to 7.19.1 installed in Windows Server 2016 environment? I request your help.

Kind regards.

Hi @Ahmet A

Although the confluence doc says that you can directly perform the upgrade from 5.0 to 7.x, I would suggest otherwise based on my experience. Since there are significant changes done between version 5 to version 7 like Collaborative editing feature, analytics etc, many new tables and constraints were introduced from confluence version 6.x onwards. Mostly I have seen failures due to new database tables and constraints.

I will suggest you follow the upgrade path 5.x-->6.x-->7.x. Also please be sure to take into account supported platforms as suggested by Dave above.

Hi @Ahmet A

From version 5.0 to 7.x, you can upgrade directly to the latest version of Confluence 7, but take into account supported platforms. This is of course only possible when you have a valid maintenance license.
