Dear community,
I am trying to implement a spreadsheet in confluence and several columns should have a data validation with pre-defined choices to choose from.
I insert the data validation and mark the entire column as such.
However, when inserting a new row (for example at the top, just under the table header), this row does not have the data validation in any of the cells.
Is there a way to keep the data validation throughout the entire column when inserting a new row?
Thank you for any help regarding this matter.
Best regards,
Gil
Hi @Gil Gordon ,
As @Brant Schroeder has kindly mentioned, please clarify what app/solution you are using to create a spreadsheet in Confluence. Seems that there is no such feature out of the box.
Our company develops the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app that provides the Table Spreadsheet macro - you'll be able to use data validation there. Maybe you are talking about our app?
Hello @Stiltsoft support
we are using:
In the meantime, we have looked at different ways of accomplishing our goals, but the description in my first post still describes the issue perfectly.
We are not pasting from an Excel file.
Best regards,
Gil

Hi @Gil Gordon ,
Indeed there is no such definition as a "table" inside the Table Spreadsheet macro, so when you add a new row to the cell range, it will be added blank (without predefined formulas and dropdowns). Unfortunately, this is it's expected behavior.
Please note that if you have questions regarding our app, it will be more effective to refer to our support.
Atlassian Community is more about sharing user experience and though we try to track related questions by the key words (app's name, macro names), we can miss them like we've missed your question (the macro name wasn't specified in the original post).

@Gil Gordon Welcome to the Atlassian community
If you are copying excel and pasting into Confluence it will convert it to a table and it will not retain the data validation.
