Hi Community,
I would like to create a Confluence Report with my Page Status. Is this possible?
I tried to search for blogs, but didn't find any.
Thank you very much and
best regards
Isabella
@Isabella H_ An alternative approach to what already has been said is to switch to something more flexible and advanced than the built-in Confluence page status for managing and reporting on page status.
Better Content Archiving and Analytics for Confluence brings you options to:
Resources are linked in-line above, so I encourage you to research and reach out to us if you have any questions about implementation for your use case.
(I'm part of the team developing Better Content Archiving and Analytics for Confluence.)
Can it also show the build-in page statuses, or is the page status system here an alternative one?

It has to be an alternative one to be a dedicated, more advanced and customizable system that refreshes automatically and can be tailored to your existing document workflow. As you can see in my comment or linked resources, the advantages are plenty.
However, for the mid-and long term, it is on our roadmap to look into creating connections or dependencies between the built-in and the Better Content Archiving statuses. (It is not a high priority, though.)

Thank you very much for all your responses!
I will read your links carefully and assume that I will find a solution for myself here.
Best, Isabella

Hi @Isabella H_ and welcome to the Community.
Like this?
You can use Confluence Databases (currently beta but can activated).
Once you have the database of your pages, you can export it if you want to, or just use the DB as the source of truth.
(to get all the existing pages into a database, refer to my Community article which links to a gif on how to do just that. then you need to add new pages manually).

Hi @Kristian Klima , thank you :)
If you mean the page status, which is circled in blue (in Screenshot 1), then yes.

BUT, I would like to add the information of the page status into my Page Properties Report (Screenshot 2).

Do you know if this is possible?
Thank you very much
Best Isabella

Hi @Isabella H_ ,
This is not directly supported in Confluence.
However we make an addon which allows you to use the page status in a page properties report: Document Metadata for Confluence Cloud
You can see documentation here: https://www.phaselockedsoftware.com/en/document-metadata/documentation/#content-status
Feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Now, that got me intrigued.... and I'd like to speak to someone who can explain this :)
How does that translate into the following report:
It seems that some data do not flow where they need to or I am not able to follow the logic.

Hi @Kristian Klima ,
This works by adding the content status to the content property macro. You can get more information by following the support link to https://www.phaselockedsoftware.com/en/document-metadata/documentation/#content-status
You can also contact our support through https://www.phaselockedsoftware.com/#contact

@marc -Collabello--Phase Locked- Thank you for the explanation.
One would expect that to work out of the box rather than using a macro to display a page status so it displays in another macro but I guess the use-case is somewhat different from what Databases do and what @Isabella H_ wanted to achieve.

Hi @Kristian Klima ,
Indeed, the use case is somewhat different than Databases. However I believe it is what @Isabella H_ wants to achieve. Unfortunately Confluence does not support it natively, and the only way seems to be the approach we take with Document Metadata.

Concur with @Kristian Klima. What's the point of the Status on a Confluence page if you can't report on it?
"In IT, if you can't report on it, don't bother."
@Isabella H_ ask is simple and an expected benefit of applying the Status feature to a page.
Pointless, unless you want to buy a third-party product to leverage an under-implemented out of the box feature.
Just put a freetext Status into a table in a Page Property macro?
Silly.

Hey @Isabella H_ interesting post, thanks for sharing.
We're in very early stages with a new product: Panorama for Confluence. Would this be of interest at all? https://www.kolekti.com/getpanorama
