Dear Atlassian Community,
I am reaching out to highlight a missing functionality in the MS Word export feature of the Confluence product. Currently, when exporting content to MS Word, any attached files (e.g., PDFs) are not included in the exported document. This omission creates additional manual effort, as I have to locate and insert these attachments into the Word document manually.
I need to produce documents for external people who cannot access the Confluence site.
It would be incredibly helpful if the MS Word export functionality could be enhanced to either:
1. Embed the attached files (e.g., PDFs) directly into the exported Word document, not as the link to the file or
2. Provide an option to generate links to the attachments within the exported document for easier access.
This feature would significantly improve workflows where documentation and associated attachments need to be shared or stored together in a unified format.
Has anyone encountered similar challenges? Are there workarounds or plugins that could address this issue in the meantime? Alternatively, is there an existing feature request that I can vote on?
Thank you for considering this suggestion!
Simona
