I would like to know if it is possible to capture user ip address, user, date and confluence page and what did the user do on the page on the logs?

Viewtracker and Page View are two apps that could fulfill part of what you want to achieve such as :

  • IP address <--- edit: wrong info on my part, this is not actually tracked as per Niklas reply
  • User
  • Date
  • Confluence page (but also comments and attachment depending on the app)

However, full behavior tracking will not be provided.

If you run a small instance, you could also enable the Confluence Usage Stats plugin which is disabled by default. However, this is not recommended as per this issue Improve activity plugin performance.

Hi Julien,

Thank you, we've tried using Enable Access logging and Tomcat Valve component to meet the above. Will look into this too.

Hey @Martha Salibongcogon and @jndeverteuil

Viewtracker does only store the User currently, to be correct. Our add-on does currently not track IP adresses.

Tomcat valve is a good idea!

Another solution for IP tracking would be integration Google Analytics in Confluence. You can simply add the Google Analytics script in the custom HTML of Confluence.

Best Regards
Niklas
