Confluence Button Marco issue

Sindhu Pullapantula May 31, 2022

I used the Button macro in Confluence to create a button and inserted a URL in the Destination URL text box.

I used an online PDF as the destination URL.

When I used the "open in New tab" checkbox, the resulting page shows error:

This page has been blocked by Chrome

ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT
However, when I uncheck the "open in New tab" checkbox, and right click the button and select "open in new tab", I do not see the error and I am able to view the browser PDF.
I wanted to know if the issue is from the macro end or with the browser PDF.
Thanks.

Hi Sindhu,

Hope you are doing well!

I was checking out our Confluence macros (the natives ones) and we don't have any macro to create a button.

However, we do want to confirm with you if you are using a third-party macro or perhaps it is just the name and we might have missed something. :)

Could you share with us more details or even a screenshot of this macro you are using?
If this is a third-party macro and you know from which one it is, we can also test on our side to double check it.

We'll be looking forward to your reply!

Cheers,
Jessica
