Our team uses blogs for weekly team meeting notes for the auto-chronology. We use a weekly team meeting notes template for this, and occasionally when folks forget about that, we have the template published as a template page to copy and convert to a blog.
Can I either directly setup an automation rule to publish a blog using a template (instead of a page) or convert a page to a blog if the page already exists?
@Elaine Hsieh This would be incredibly useful. We are solely reliant on colleagues remembering to select publish as a blog, which often doesn't happen.
Hi @Mariya Rybak ,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to set up an automation rule to publish a blog using a template instead of a page. The blog template links to the blog creation page (and is not selectable via the automation template picker), and currently you cannot create any templates as blogs. It also isn't possible to use automation to convert a page to a blog.
What you could do is create a rule that will create a page with the weekly team meeting notes template at a scheduled frequency (e.g. once a week on Monday) and manually convert that page to a blog afterwards.

@Elaine Hsieh is there any plans on implementing this functionality? Seems like a huge gap as there is no way to create a Blog Template for specific types of Blog Posts and there is no way to automate conversion of a Page to a Blog Post based on specific criteria.
