Hello

I am setting up a piece of manually triggered global automation for a subset of my users to use.

I am currently only able to trigger the automation from pages shown in the Content Tree.
The homepage of a Space does not have the little automation icon.

Am I blind or missing something, or is it simply not possible to manually trigger automations from the homepage of a Space?

Hi @Rune Rasmussen

I used the template provided by Atlassian to test it and it works and I see the automation icon on a page within the space.

On the global scope, I see it onevery page in any space that I can access.

This is a page based action.

No, i'm fairly certain it's also a thing for Confluence.
I'm actively building a globally available automation with a manual trigger in Confluence at the time of writing.

Also:
This page specifically mentions Global Automation for Confluence:

Here, if you scroll down a bit, the Manual Trigger is mentioned:

A response to the edited reply:

The homepage of a Space is also a Page, so by that logic I would think the automation button should be present.

I just wouldn't put it past Atlassian to place it somewhere else for some arbitrary reason, so I'm wondering if I'm being blind (which happens from time to time) or if it's just not there.

Hi @Rune Rasmussen

It's not on the homepage, only on pages within a space

I had to swap out homepages temporarily just to get the automation option... why can't I run an automation on a homepage??

Hi @Rune Rasmussen and @Anthony Pearson

As this is not supported.

As you mentioned yourself, you can swap the home page of a space.

The home page is the main identifier of a space, if automation would be able to impact this page, links between the space and a Jira project could be broken or links to Confluence in issues would be impacted.

You could raise an issue at Atlassian Support, to explain your case and see if they would consider this to be investigated.
