Summary: when there is any colon (:) inside an hyperlink field, the full text search doesn't work.
Details:
- I defined a form with a hyperlink type of field with field name of url
- I created a tableview with instant search and full text search enabled
- When the url doesn't include colon (:) the search works. However, when an url includes colon, the search doesn't work (I didn't include http:// or https:// in the search box otherwise it will never work for search). The particular url has the following string in the url
.com/:f:/
Question:
- What can I do to enable search for this type of urls?
- Are there any other special characters that will have the same type of search issue?
Thank you.
Hi
Is this very important to search with a protocol, ie a full absolute url?
Alex
I wanted to detect if the url exists already before creating a new entry.
However, it is inconsistent between the behaviors' of different macros:
- the field definition rule uniqueness detects the url already exists
- the search function does not return any record
I removed the function to detect the uniqueness for now but it is not ideal. Do you have any suggestions on how to handle it?
Thanks,
