Clone a space including Jira links

Christian Polonio February 18, 2019

Hi there,

is there a way to create a deep copy of a confluence space, in which the links from/to Jira are also being cloned?

Example:

  • Create a jira issue
  • Create a confluence page in space A
  • Link this jira issue to a sub-page of space A
  • Now create a copy of space A named B
  • Check Jira: This issue now shows links to the page in space A and B
  • Check Confluence: Both pages (in space A and B) show a link to the jira issue.

The basic cloning function of Confluence does not copy the links (the jira issue shows only a link to space A and on the page in space B there is no hint of the linked issue). Is there a plug-in that provides this functionality?

I'm using the server versions of jira and confluence.

Best regards

Christian

Christian,

There is currently no functionality in Confluence to clone a space, as you can see from the below article:

We have a feature request below for the functionality:

I'm not sure which method you were using, since this isn't a feature of Confluence, but there are a few add-ons suggested that you can try from the first article. I cannot say for sure if any of them support copying links to and from Jira, but it would be worth taking a look into them.

Let us know if you have any trouble.

Regards,

Shannon
