Clicking a file thumbnail does not give me the option to change it to a link only

Question

This is a really basic problem. When I insert a File into a page I cannot change it to a smaller size or (as I want) to a link only. I've gone through the Manual and it says I can click on it and have those options but I don't.

I was doing this in Safari and realised the browser might be an issue so changed to Google Chrome, but it still doesn't work. Is it a Mac issue?

This isn't directly supported in Confluence. (Weird, huh?)
