I think I'm missing something obvious but I can't work out how to reference table data from the Chart macro in Confluence.
I've read through the documentation on the attached page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/jira-chart-macro-427623467.html) but couldn't work it out unfortunately,
An example I'd like to do is shown below. It's the first table on the page and I thought I'd keep it simple by referring to the first column only (ideally I'd like all the data in the chart thou).
Is there another more details or dummies guide to the Chart macro in Confluence or could someone give me some tips on including tables into a chart?
Thanks Mark
Hi @Mark Wheeler ,
The standard Confluence Chart macro has limited capabilities, so you'll get smth similar to the following screenshot:
As far as I can see, you need a kind of a timeline - try to use the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app.
Change you dates to the standard format and wrap your table in the Chart from Table macro:
And here is your result:
Thanks for you response @Katerina Kovriga {Stiltsoft} .
I'd had a look at Chart from Table and it looks good ... but I've got 60 users so the cost adds up and budgets are always hard to get hold of - hence looking at the in-built chart option.
I still can't work out how to get my table data into the Chart macro. I've put 1 into the "Tables" field but that doesn't show anything. I've left columns blank and changed my table to match the format you've recommended.
Any tips/hints would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Katerina Kovriga {Stiltsoft} - I've finally got Chart to work. The penny eventually dropped (i.e. I understood the macro properly) when I saw your screenshot and that the table was in the macro. I had incorrectly assumed the table could be outside the macro.
All works now and looks fantastic.
Thanks
Mark

Charts are pretty much useless. They only work with tables displaying the info on the screen. You can't wire up attachments or other sources so you have to display the entire table along with the chart summarizing it. With big data sets Confluence bogs down to nothing and all the other usable options are pay only which is also a no go with a large workforce as you have to pay for every Confluence user, not just the users who need the plugin.
