Cannot find the Confluence Gadget URL

Dan Zimmerman April 16, 2012

I want to use Confluence as a Open Social Gadget in another application, actually, Liferay. Your documentation, at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Configuring+Confluence+Gadgets+for+Use+in+Other+Applications, seems to say that you go to the browse window at the top right and type in the words, Confluence Gadgets and I can then navigate to the activity stream's, or QuickNav's gadget URL. But Confluence cannot find this. I need the URL for the gadget version of Confluence activity stream and QuickNav, etc. Thanks,

Your docs:

To find a Confluence gadget's URL:

Choose Browse > Confluence Gadgets. The 'Confluence Gadgets' window will open.

The 'Confluence Gadgets' window displays a list of available Confluence gadgets in your Confluence installation, as shown in the screenshot below.

By default, Confluence only includes a few gadgets. However, if your Confluence administrator has installed more Confluence gadgets (typically as Confluence plugins), these will also appear in this list. If a scrollbar is available, use it to find the gadget you want.

After finding your gadget, use the Gadget URL link to copy the gadget's URL to your clipboard. Many operating systems and browsers allow you to do this by right-clicking the Gadget URL link and copying it using the context menu.

Don't you get the "Confluence gadgets" option in the menu dropdown? If i click on Browse a menu just like the one in my screenshot appears. I don't have to type in anything...By the way, you have to be on the dashboard to get the right context menu!

Cheers Christian
