Cannot create/edit pages whenever collaborative editing is enabled.

The two links you mentioned had been checked before I ask. So, disable the collaborative editing feather as the workaround is the best solution currently~~~~~

Actually, I tried to solve this problem with several methods, as you know, they all failed. It would be very useful if you can explain some details according to the log attached.

Synchrony is a separate service which has its own process and own port and Confluence communicate with synchrony service for collaborative editing.

I do not know the exact details of the errors we see, but seems synchrony is not able to start or Confluence is not able to communicate with the synchrony service , this is the reason collab editing is not working.

Thank you for explain. I tried to connect 8091 port and it seems established but did not work. And, can not find any symptoms in log files. I think  it would be the reason. Hoe ou can update this issue after Atlassian clarifed this issue.

Hi,

I have got the same problem after upgrade our Confluence Server to version 6.4.1.

You can work around by navigate to <base URL>/admin/darkfeatures.action and remove:
        site-wide.synchrony
        site-wide.synchrony.opt-in
        site-wide.shared-drafts

Our Confuence is running behind firewall and my solution for this problem is adding these  to installation-directory/bin/setenv.sh:

Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=localhost\|127.0.0.1
Dhttps.nonProxyHosts=localhost\|127.0.0.1

Ouch, no, you do NOT want to remove those files, they exist for a reason.  The proxy lines are ok to get it working, but do hint that you may have a poorly configured firewall.

You are right that all files are there for some reason and should not be removed, but I guess these files will not be "removed" from Confluence and will appear again on next start-up. Like I have said, this is just a work around, and can be used in emergency case.

Of course that was not all of my firewall configuration, just the options on setenv.sh that resolved the problem.

It's a work-around you don't understand, so it's a very poor choice, and because you don't know what it's "fixing", you have no idea if it might work around other people's problems.

You should fix your network so that it routes correctly to Synchrony.  (I suspect the removal of the files is incidental and not actually helping in the slightest)

That's one of the symptoms of the problems the troubleshooting doc can fix (Mizan pointed to it in an earlier answer)
