Can you put an Expand into a Multi-Excerpt?

I have a rather lengthy multi-excerpt and I would like it to be an expand so that only the header is visible by default and the user can expand it for the details if desired. But whenever I try to insert an expand into my multi-excerpt, it adds a new block beneath the multi-excerpt. Is it not possible to include an expand inside a multi-excerpt? 

If not, any advice on achieving my goal of collapsed default content in a multi-excerpt?

In the cloud you can't nest macros, so I suspect what you are seeing is normal.

My advice, as vague as it is, is to look to the marketplace and see if any of the formating addons will fit your needs.
