Can not connect confluence to postgres database

Hello 

Team im configured server remotely 

I installed confluence and postgres , when i try to connect my database to postgres ,  for  , when i hit test connection : it looks succeded as picture describe below :

But when i hit next to finish the configuration , it takes a while and i get this error : 

Ce site est inaccessible

vps796322.ovh.net n'autorise pas la connexion.

Voici quelques conseils :

• Vérifier la connexion
• Vérifier le proxy et le pare-feu

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

i tested with chrome and firefox .

Firwall is down .

I reboot my vps.

Regarding the "confluence.cfg.xml" what you pasted here is all what you see?

If yes then you are missing all DB information and that's why you are having a problem.

@karim.belhadj  When you configured the DB the very first time did you follow Atlassian recommendations? Collation? Character Type?

Your Database Configuration File is missing the DB URL with the port, Username, and password and other parameters.

It is definitely why you are having the issue.

Also your log file is only showing WARN, and INFO. Errors are the ones you need to focus on. I will also suggest you to take a look at Catalina.out

It's the first time that im connecting database , the problem is that after making the database information and test (test succefully ) but when i hit next , after two moments it's show (the vps not autorize connection error )

For colation yes it's okay . i atlassian see the recommendation

There is nothing alarming on the Catalina.out @karim.belhadj . 

I will focus more on the confluence.cfg.xml. It is missing all DB information. Not sure though why you are getting a successful test. 

Did you make sure that the port is open? 

Are you on Linux or Windows? What version of Confluence did you install? Is this the very first time you are installing/configuring Confluence?

I would like to explain you some thing that maybe it's very important :

My server vps os is centos 7 :

I opened the port 8090 (confluence) and 5432 (postgres) and i use this url in windows to configure the installation because i do not have graphics in server .

Postgres : postgres (PostgreSQL) 9.2.24

Confluence: atlassian-confluence-7.3.3-x64.bin 

the problem is the test succed can it be a chrome problem ? i tested with firefoox same problem also .

Im trying to solve this problem for 5 days :p

Try to connect your Confluence to the internal DB. The one that comes with Confluence. So that we can see if it is an Application Issue or a DB issue.

My apology may be I confused you @karim.belhadj .

• Stop Confluence
• Copy confluence.cfg.xml -> confluence.cfg.xml-original
• Delete confluence.cfg.xml
• Start Confluence (it will generate automatically a new confluence.cfg.xml file
• Then when you are asked during the configuration process to select a DB, select the internal DB even though it says it is for test instances only.

This is the step where we will be able to see if the issue is with the DB or Application itself.

It was a system requirements problem, means not enough RAM Memory .

the problem is Out Of Memory.

Qu'est ce que vous voyez dans "log file"? Surtout les erreurs.

C'est ce qui nous aidera à trouver l'origine de votre problème.
