We are having to show the same table in various pages depending on the audience viewing the page. I created a database with intent of displaying different views across pages. When i embed a view of a data base into a page, the users have access to other views as well. How can I restrict them to a single view of a data base ?
Desperately need the ability to only show specific views of a database on a page.
To preset the selected view in the embed window when using the views link is not enough. Users can still switch to other views and edit everything. We need an option to share just one view to another counfluence space where embedding could be useful. Users there should just have access to this one view. furthermore it would be helpful if they also can't edit it. Such a powerfull tool with no option to control what users can do inside a database limits use cases indirectly a lot. Now would need to export and import a snapshot of the view manually for multiple views every time the database has changed. So we can't use it, even so other tools like page properties also don't work because they are not bidirectional.

Well said Jonas! Databases opens a lot of possibilities for streamlining workflows but setting visibility and permissions is crucial in an enterprise environment.

I agree with this notion. I would even go further and hide everything else but the table of that view. Ideally, I would like to extract the data as a regular Confluence table, which I could manipulate with other tools, e.g. the popular "Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence" app from the marketplace. The way it is now with all the filter options for the database visible, is rather distracting from the actual content that is presented.

On a Confluence page, instead of using /embed database, go to the database, select the view, copy the link, and paste it on the page.
Next time you load the Confluence page, instead of loading the default view, your selected view will be active (but the others will also be available).
I think Confluence should add a new command to embed a view that at least does this for you. Ideally, it should only render the selected view.

Hey everyone,
I'm just here to drop a feature suggestion link for this request: CONFCLOUD-79661 Option to Restrict View Toggling for Embedded Database Views
We also hope it gets developed soon.
Cheers,
Tom
