When searching in my Atlassian portal for pages that I have created, the Space which lists all of the child pages and labels also shows up. How do I hide or block these from the results?

Hi @Gary Persaud , welcome to the Community!

As far as I understand, only pages a given user is able to access are included in Confluence Search.

If you're interested in removing a specific page from Search, I would first ask how many people to expect to be able to view the page. The only way I can think of to fully remove a page from search results is to restrict the page to only yourself.

If you expect others to be able to view this page too, you could consider restricting visibility of this page to certain users, but this can become a bit administratively heavy to keep up to date. One way around this is to restrict a parent page, and those page restrictions will apply to all child pages.

Hope that helps!

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you for responding. Its not the pages I am worried about, its that the Space itself shows up as a Page so user can see my list of articles (pages) and Labels List.

Thanks

Hi @Gary Persaud , you could make the homepage of the Space restricted to only you, and all pages within the space should then inherit that page restriction and therefore be excluded from search.

This has the byproduct of only allowing you into the space, so if there is an expectation others will need access, this restriction will need to be adjusted.

This also requires all pages to be under the same parent page. However, adding page restrictions to all top-level-pages should do the trick.

Cheers,
Robert
