Bug with Tool Tip Macro: Display inline does not work when placed inside another macro

We realized there is a bug with the Tool Tip Macro: It displays with a line break before and after the tool tip although we chose "display inline". We realized this only happens when we use the Tool Tip Macro inside another Macro, for example an Excerpt-include-macro. Is that a bug that can be fixed by any means by us or is it just a given dysfunction of the macro?
