Blog Posts Macro - Can I add Image?

Melisa Singh February 1, 2024

Hi. I have a section in each space for "Blog Posts" where it pulls in blog posts from that space. It looks like I only have option to have description, excerpt or full page.

There is no option to show image with copy.

The excerpt option is closest to content length I'd want but looks super boring with no image. Can I somehow have it populate a card that shows the image from the blog post?

How it displays with Excerpt:

How the blog actually looks with header image (which would be nice to include in excerpt):

My apologies in advance but I'm not tech savvy at all and know nothing about CSS or code so if that's involved please explain it like I'm a child (for real).

Many thanks!

Hi @Melisa Singh ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

To view the image in the Excerpt, you need to add the image in the Excerpt as the following:

After it has been added, it will be shown in the Blog Post macro as below:

As for the header image, it would not be rendered if it is not added in the Excerpt macro.

Kindly let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you.

Warm regards,
Farah

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the Excerpt macro, while the original poster is talking about the Blog Posts macro. The Blog Posts macro allows you to create a string of recent blog posts within the page, included an excerpt of the first few sentences from the blog post. I'm using the Blog Posts macro, and don't see the options you're describing for adding an image to the blog excerpt.
