Beginner question about page edit

Mo March 8, 2021

Hello all,

I am new to confluence so this might be a very silly question. I am working on a page that was created by an employee who is no longer here. If you can see the screenshot you will notice these block of dotted lines. What are these? Thank you in advanceconfluence.png

In Confluence you have the ability to work on your page layout with sections.

When you click on "Page layout" (see screenshot) you'll be able to choose from different options. In your screenshot the user selected the two column section. The sections are displayed with dotted lines.

the empty blocks that are make up of dotted lines are called sections and help define a section of the confluence page.
