Autonumber error

I have an Autonumber field with no mask and an initial value 1. However the data in the entries apparently displays random values that I couldn't make sense of (see example). I make further use of the same value entered with [entry.entryid] and the values are always passed as 1. Any insight into what I am doing wrong here would be very helpful.
