Hello everyone,
I am trying to update our project reporting for our monthly reports to the project manager.
For example we are using a confluence page with these fields
These tasks should update a jira Task
I have tried to build an automation for this process, but there is an issue here:
If one task in this report is set to complete it does change all the stati in JIRA task.
I am not sure if I can link the completed task text to the correct field in Jira.
I would appreciate your help
Thank you
Hi @Stella Schmidt , welcome to the community and thanks for your question.
Please can you clarify what you want this rule to do?
In the page you have shown, there are technically 21 tasks, correct? So, when any one of the tasks gets a tick in it, this rule would run as it would count as a task being completed.
Do you mean that you want to have instead some kind of overview task for the page so that only when the page has reached a certain state for the Jira tasks to be updated?
Thanks in advance for your patience.
Hi @Valerie Knapp thank you for your quick answer.
Actually what I would need is a custom field from JIRA displayed in Confluence.
I basically need some fields that are shown in a specific Jira task and afterwards dashboard.
Lets say we are reporting a project each month and have to report if there is a risk in specific categories. These are tracked from green to red.
The given answer in many projects to these different categories should all be shown in one task per project.
I used tasks to tick off if a category is red, yellow or green. So not as a task is completed, but to use a template for each project manager to report.
These categories by color should then automatically change in a jira task - these tasks are all collected in a dashboard.
What I was thinking was wrong as it does not work as the text is always shown in the report. Maybe the screenshot helps to understand. If for example a tick is made in "GRUEN ZIELE" which meens green it should set a custom field to "OK" as in everything is fine.
Hope this helps and I appreciate your help.
Best,
Stella

Hi @Stella Schmidt , thanks for your message. There is a new feature in beta in Confluence cloud to have databases in Confluence pages. Within that, I was able to make a table, for example, with a Jira issue key and custom fields,
https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/create-and-edit-databases/
Perhaps with this, you could have a database page with the relevant Jira custom field data and then link to that page from the report?
Just an idea

Hi @Valerie Knapp thank you for the answer. I can do the same with /Jira JQL, but that is not the issue.
I need to transfer data from Confluence to a customer field in Jira from about 22 reports.
So I don't think this would help as much I appreciate your answer.

Hi @Stella Schmidt , let me tag Atlassian into this ticket and see if they can offer another solution.
Cheers
