Automatic filling Jira ticket on Confluence page

Hello, we have Confluence and Jira on the same cloud instance. I would like to automatically create/fill Jira ticket based on its key when writing on Confluence page, instead of copying the  URL of the ticket. Is that possible? How to set Jira and Confluence to cooperate in this way?

Thank you

Jana

Hi @Jana_Kyselova

Yes, you can automatically reference and fill in Jira ticket details in Confluence without needing to copy the URL manually. Atlassian's Jira-Confluence integration makes this seamless.

Steps to Set Up Jira-Confluence Integration

  1. Verify Application Links

    • Go to Confluence Settings > Application Links in Confluence.
    • Ensure that Jira is linked to Confluence. If it's not linked, add your Jira Cloud instance's URL here.
  2. Set Permissions

    • Ensure that both Jira and Confluence users have the required permissions to view the tickets and pages.
  3. Enable Jira Macros in Confluence

    • Jira Macros should be enabled by default in Confluence. This allows Confluence to interact with Jira tickets directly.
    • In Confluence, type /Jira or {{ to insert the Jira Issue Macro.
    • Enter the Jira issue key (e.g., PROJ-123) in the macro. Once entered, the macro will pull in details about the ticket, such as the title, status, priority, and more.

Link in Application Links is present. I am admin on both instances, so should have permission to view tickets and pages.

Macros are working well.

what I want to achieve - as in Jira, if I write PRJ-1234 in text - I will automatically receive the link to the ticket PRJ-1234.
