I have want to configure automated backups for our Confluence data. I have been using this approach: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/configuring-backups-138348.html

But I cannot find this option:

  1. Go to  > General Configuration > Backup administration

I have nothing called Backup administration. I have also checked on the user of my colleauge which is a system administrator and could not see it there either. I could only see Backup Manager. But it was not clear to me how to set up daily backup from that option.

I want to set up daily backup of all our confluence data, so we can restore the data if anything get's lost.

My guess is that you are on Cloud (I'm guessing that mostly from the tags you've chosen)

The doc you are reading is for Server/DC installations, not Cloud.

Cloud backups are very different, and are not automated in the Cloud system - you have to trigger one manually and then download and store the resulting files yourself (although there are a number of scripts and programs out there that can automate this and do it regularly, it's not a confluence function)

Thanks. You are right, I am on Cloud.

Does anyone know a way to set up this automatically?

Yes, I've seen several clients work it out by hand, and eventually we got Atlassian to throw up a "begrudgingly recommended" method over at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-automate-backups-for-jira-cloud-applications-779160659.html

Hello Maria!

We at Rewind are considering building automated backups for Confluence and Jira Could. You’ll be able to backup and restore your Confluence workspace.

I’m wondering is it what you want to see in Confluence automated backups? I would love to hear from you!

Hello Maria. I already reached out to sales today in regards to Jira, but as a quick question, does the Rewind Jira backup also backup services like Jira Service Management?

Hello Paul!

Sorry for the late response. Starting this week, we're backing up Jira Service Management as well!

Jira Service Management is now included in Jira backups, the price remains the same: https://rewind.com/products/backups/jira-service-management/
