Atlassian Cloud storage limits exist or not

xujuan April 7, 2018

I see from one page(https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/atlassian-cloud-storage-policy-873871366.html) that there's cloud storage limits exist, 25GB for <= 250 users and 50GB for <=500 users for confluence, is it true? or the standard is changed now. seems we have already exceed the maximum however no warning is received.

Hi everyone - just wanted to share that we've increased the storage limit for both Jira Cloud products and Confluence Cloud from 25GB to 250GB, regardless of user tier.

If you have both Confluence and Jira, each has its own 250GB storage limit (note that all Jira family products have a combined storage limit).

Storage is primarily made up of:

  • Attachments from Jira products
  • Confluence attachments

It’s also important to know that storage limits in Cloud are not currently enforced. We are currently revising our storage policy in Cloud and will roll out more options for purchasing additional storage, along with enforcing the limits sometime in 2019. We will notify customers in advance before we roll out these changes.

If your Atlassian Cloud products exceed the storage limit, your instance will not be suspended, except in extreme circumstances, and we will not remove any data. If you exceed your storage limit by a small amount, and you're storing acceptable types of data, your products will continue to work.

Hi!

Could you please contact me at vrutkevich@stiltsoft.com. I have a question regarding the space quotas and their usage.

Thanks.

Sincerely, Vadim

This is amazing.  So a subscription can have up to 5,000 users and stays fixed at the 250GB storage limit regardless of the number of users.  Really?  So a subscription with 5,000 users gives each user 0.05GB of storage?? A 1TB Google drive subscription is about $100 annually.  Feels like Atlassian is living in 1999.

H, Xujuan.

You may create a ticket with Support to check how much space you have used for your cloud instance.

Cheers

In the time since this comment was posted by Atlassian, Atlassian has released a feature to check how much storage one is using.

If you are a site-admin on your cloud instance, you can go to the Administration area.  In the left hand nav, the bottom choice under SITE SETTINGS is Storage.  If you click on that, you will see how much storage you are using for each Atlassian product in that instance.

Hi Dan,
Could you please include a screenshot of this setting? I cant seem to find "Site Settings" or "Storage" anywhere under Jira Settings on our site.

Malin August 19, 2019

Never mind, I found it under User Management!

Dear Atlassian,

For institutions moving from on-premise to Open Source Cloud, what is the  formal storage capacity limit?

Thanks indeed!

Hi,

It's true. Please read below

If your Atlassian Cloud instance exceeds the storage limit, your instance will not be suspended, except in extreme circumstances, and we will not remove any data. If you exceed your storage limit by a small amount, and you're storing acceptable types of data, your applications will continue to work (large video files are an example of an unacceptable attachment data type). If you exceed the limit by a large amount, we'll email your technical contact and offer help to reduce disk usage by archiving old Confluence or Jira application attachments.

And how much for extra GBs of data when the disk usage exceeds the limit?

They don't any more, they get your tech contact to delete.
