Are there any work around for importing to Confluence Cloud from an older version of Confluence?

My part of a company has been sold.  We purchased JIRA Cloud and would like to import our portion of Confluence to Cloud.  The problem is that the old company is running Confluence v5.6.3.  I can import the pages, but the attachments will not import.  Does anyone have any ideas of a plugin or workaround?

Unfortunately, having the old company upgrade Confluence is not an option.

Thanks!

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

The workaround in this case would be to:

  1. Install a 2nd Confluence Server instance as 5.6.3
  2. Import the spaces to that.
  3. Upgrade that 2nd instance to the latest version of Confluence.
  4. Migrate the spaces from that 2nd copy of Confluence to the Cloud Confluence.

This would then not require you to upgrade your current Confluence instance. You can do this with an Evaluation license so there will be no need to purchase anything.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Shannon
