After update to 8.5.5, list of mail servers empty

Patrick Sifneos March 11, 2024

Hello everyone,

I updated Confluence from 7.19.18 to 8.5.5. I had one SMTP mail server configured for outgoing emails. Now, the list with the mail server is empty. So, I tried to re-add the SMTP mail server, but unfortunately, it is not possible. I get this error:

2024-03-11 09:09:11,059 WARN [http-nio-8090-exec-7] [atlassian.confluence.jmx.JmxUtil] registerBean Unable to register bean with name: Confluence:name=MailServer-SMTP-Server, already exists

So, the mail server is somehow in the database, but it is not shown on the list under General Configuration -> Mail Server, nor are the notification emails going out.

If I add a new entry with a different name, I do not get an error in the log. However, the new mail server entry is not showing on the list, nor can I send any emails with it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,

Patrick

@Patrick Sifneos Welcome to the Atlassian community

Have you tried clearing the Confluence cache? https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-clear-confluence-plugins-cache-297664846.html

Yes, but I found about what it was. It was a custom app :)
