Hi there,
I would like to move a page from space A to space B but I get the message "Only space administrators can move content to another space". In both spaces I have full rights except the admin right.
I am really surprised about this. Is it new that admin authorisation is required for this type of action?
Thanks
Hi @Martin Thier , thanks for your question. Usually to move a page from one space to another, you need the delete pages permission from the source and the create pages permission in the destination. Please check the documentation for confirmation here
Move, copy, and hide pages | Confluence Cloud | Atlassian Support
Thank you for sharing the screenshot and confirming this is how your permissions are on both spaces.
Currently, these are the space permissions necessary to move pages, also mentioned in our Move, copy, and hide pages | Confluence Cloud | Atlassian Support:
Make sure you have the right space permissions
When you move pages into a different space, you're essentially deleting them in their current space and adding them to the destination space. With that in mind, make sure you have the following permissions. In the page's current space:
Space admin permission
In the destination space:
permission to View content in the space
permission to View the page or pages you want to move
permission to Add pages in the space
Please try granting yourself administrator space permissions in the current space where the pages are located, then try to move.
If it still doesn't work though, and you are sure you have at least the view and add permissions on the target space, then we can think of something like restrictions.
Let us know how it goes!
Cheers,
Jessica

Hi @Jessica
thank you. With Space admin permission it´s working.
But why is it needed? In my opinion, moving should be independent of admin permission.

Hi @Martin Thier,
It was an expected change, and now it is necessary for any user to have the space administrator permission in order to perform page moves.
For more details on why this was changed, it can be found on this post.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Jessica

@Jessica Thank you for pointing this out—I missed the post you linked to.

Hi. Thanks for reply.
These are the rights that are set for my user in both spaces:
So, no admin right but all I need to move the page (display, add, delete). I have checked whether I can create new pages and delete existing pages in both spaces.
But when I try to move a page, this is the message I get:
Translated: "You cannot move this content. Only space administrators can move content to another space. Contact your administrator for help."
Is there perhaps a global right that only allows administrators to move pages between spaces?

Hi @Martin Thier , thanks for your reply. That isn't the standard configuration of Confluence in the cloud but now I am wondering if maybe the page is restricted that you are trying to move.

Hi @Martin Thier , thanks for your reply. I am not sure what to tell you as this isn't the expected behaviour here. Let me escalate this to Atlassian to see if they can help.

@Martin Thier This message does sound odd, since this feature doesn't have anything to do with whether you are a Space Admin.
If you have the delete and create permissions on the respective spaces, you should be able to do this action. I would expect any error message to indicate that you don't have one of these permissions.
