Additional vertical scroll bar when a banner is added to Confluence

Helen Griffiths _Capgemini_ August 24, 2018

Hi Community

We recently had an issue where we added a Banner to Confluence and it created an additional vertical scroll bar to the right hand side of the original scroll option.

So, say you were editing a Confluence page. You have the first scroll bar which enables you to scroll up and down the page you're editing, but the second scroll bar would be required to go to the bottom of the screen to save the page.

Additional behaviour observed was when trying to tag someone in a comment on the page, the field that populates a list of possible users was at the bottom of the second scroll bar (riiiiight at the bottom of the page) so it meant you had to scroll before you could select who you were trying to tag. Not a great end user experience for us as Admins or our end user base.

Has anyone seen this type of behaviour before or knows what causes it?

We've since removed the banner and the additional scroll bar has gone away, but it is a nuisance when the banner is required.

We are using Confluence server v6.5.1

Hi @Alejandro Villalobos _atSistemas_

Really strange that I can't see your comment, but I have an email notification with your update.

We are using the Custom HTML (under Look & Feel) that comes with the Confluence application.

Could you try to copy & paste the same content into the suggested app to check if the same happens?

Hi @Helen Griffiths _Capgemini_,

Are you using Announcement Banner for Confluence Free App?
Or did you place a Custom HTML (under Look & Feel section) content inside your Confluence instance?
