How do we add a user to our confluence-users group?

You have to have Confluence Instance Permissions to add users.  Do you have that?

If Yes then go to confluence administrative screen and on the left side panel go to groups. 

Click on manage groups. Enter confluence-users and then search for users to add.

 

Note: is you are letting JIRA Crowd manage users then add them in JIRA and it will synch the Confluence side.

Welcome to the community!

If you assign a confluence license to the users they should be automatically added.  The other option is to go to the jira groups, search for confluence group and add the user as a member.
