Add Smart Value Labels to a page using confluence automation rule

Hey,

I am unable to add labels to a page using smart values with the confluence automation feature.

There is a nice confluence template available:

"Add specific labels when a page is published by a certain author" which works fine.

If i try to use other smart values, the validation fails. Even if i delete the label which the template provides "{{content.author.fullName}}-page" and try to type it manually in the "add these labels *" field the validation fails.

It wont accept the smart value input in the labels field , is there something i am missing?

Try {{page.owner.fullname}}

That's what i got working for me for someone creating a new page

Hey, thanks for reply but no smart values work, as soon as there is a '.' dot in the input it wont validate, i tried yours but the same issue. Are you inputting it in the same place as me? The value you suggested isn't listed here. Smart values in Confluence automation | Cloud automation Cloud | Atlassian Support

Hi @Chris_Brown and welcome to the Community!  What happens when you just use the {{content.author.fullName}} smart value?

Hey, nothing, you press enter and nothing happens, its blocked. If you use a non-smart value you receive a "create" popup, press enter -> label created.

When you try to add smart labels, no popup and you cant press enter.

Nothing happens, with any smart value, as soon as you type "." the input is invalid. I would expect to press enter and the smart label gets added.

If you try using non smart values it works as expected.

@Laurie Sciutti Hi, I also want to use smart value to determine which label to be added to a page on Automation.

Are you saying that some or all of smart value can be used in `Add these labels` field in Automation?

Just for your information, I confirmed that one of the smart value can be used( what i have tried is to use `{{page.parent.title}}` to add label action)
