We use Confluence + Slack, but had to go with an app and the reason being that we wanted to control what was sent to Slack and also be able to change the icon used. The app allows us to customize the message for each space.

We are using Slack for Confluence.

Slack is our main communication channel, and our enablement team using notify our teams about new blog posts that they created, anything from training to new resources that are available. And our sales team has started to do the same thing in their channel.
