Server.xml configuration

Hi All,

We are planning for Confluence upgrade from(5.6.4) to the latest available version.

During this process, I have replicated the current PROD to a new DEV environment.

When I have updated the "server.xml" file located at "/opt/atlassian/confluence/conf" path, I was not able to login to the application

Please help.

That looks more like a network error than a failed confluence.

You should also check that confluence is running, and then check its logs to see what may be wrong.  If it's refusing to start, you probably want a look at catalina.out in the installation/log directory.  If it is running but refusing connections, then have a look in confluence-home/logs for the logs.

I agree with Nic. Most likely confluence is running just fine.

Check:

  • Local firewall
  • Network firewall
  • SElinux:  setenforce 0, )temporarily)

Test locally:

curl -v http://confapp01da.example.edu

nmap localhost (port scan to see what ports are listening)

Cheers,
