Searching in Confluence for special characters

Edited

I want to search for special characters and/or words containing them, e.g. search for 'run-time'.

Although the documentation says that you can escape the minus sign with \ or \\ in the advanced search, this doesn't work. I tried:

  • run-time
  • run\-time
  • run\\-time

and all these example with single or double quotes: ' or ". But Confluence search ignores all of these, finding also 'run time'.

The only way do get a result is searching for

"run-time" AND NOT "run time"

and even this doesn't seem to work always.

But I think this should also work in a proper way by escaping characters.
