Search should highlight why a page is included in the results

Rahav June 13, 2020

When searching the results shown should include an excerpt that surrounds the texts that was searched. The texts itself, that part that caused the page to be included in the search results should be bolded. Including a relevancy score may also be helpful but not mandatory.

The second suggestion for improvement of the utility of Confluence search is that once one of the results was selected then page would be displayed, not at its top, but focused on the part of the page containing the text that was searched.

I also recommend that as long as the user is viewing that part of the page the text that was searched for would be somehow highlighted to denote why the user was brought to that location. This would help the readers focus on what they were looking (searching) for.
