Linchpin Mobile - Cannot Connect to Server

Horst Buck December 5, 2019

Installed Confluence 6.15 and Linchpin Suite - Linchpin Mobile gets no Connection to Linchpin/Confluence-Server with Blackberry-Smartphones under OS Android.

Failure: The Server-Adress (https:) is not reachable

IPhones with IOS can connect with the Server.

We dont use the Linchpin Gateway Service.

Thanx for some ideas

H. Buck

Hi Martin,

  • The failing devices are Blackberry Motion (our standard-device) with Android 8.1.0. We also use some IOS-Devices - there we get a connection.
  • We don´t use the Gateway-Service, because we are already in a VPN-Modus with the devices.
  • The Confluence/Linchpin-Server ist behind a firewall und not public available
  • We have a Test-System, but it is in the same network
  • We plan the Upgrade to Confluence 7.1. in 2020, but not in the next weeks
  • We are using the Linchpin Intranet Suite and are online since November 2019

Hi @Horst Buck , @Martin Hahn

we had already communicated some time ago and analyzed the device logs of the Android devices together with colleagues of yours.

The result was that the Android devices could not establish a connection via the VPN and Linchpin-Mobile was not able to connect to the Linchpin instance.

Since the problem still exists can you create a ticket (https://seibert.biz/help) so that we can prioritize it.

Best regards

Sandro

Does it work, when you use the Gateway service?

Hi Horst,

some debugging questions:

  • Which devices do you have that fail? What is the exact version of the OS?
  • Did you try connecting via the Gateway Service? Does that work with all devices?
  • Is your Confluence behind a firewall or publicly available?
  • Do you have a test system that we can easily access on our own.
  • Confluence 7.1 is the latest release. Why are you running on 6.15? Can you upgrade to the current version of Confluence?
  • Are you only trialling Linchpin Mobile or the Linchpin Intranet Suite
