We use Jira tasks for SDLC work. We have a board that has our development tickets on it but also the surrounding tasks - documentation, discovery, requirement gathering, deployment etc.
Although some of these tasks come up in release planning, quite a lot come up in meetings - eg. 'investigate this thing and report back'. Currently we create a Confluence task for these. But this means that our team have both Jira tasks and Confluence tasks. We'd love to just directly create Jira tasks from our meetings, but this only allows you to enter the Jira project, issue type, summary and description. We need to be able to select Epic also.
I think adding Epic to the quick Jira issue creation macro would be a really useful enhancement.
