Confluence user restrict all access except one url

jadbaz August 18, 2017

Hello,

I'm using Confluence internally and have many spaces for documentation.

I want to have one space for public documentation (DOCS) behind the Scroll Viewport plugin which can be accessed via mysite.com/docs.

I would like some way to restrict my public documentation with some sort of authentication.

I have setup a user and group with the following restrictions:

  • The user group only has access to the DOCS space
  • The user homepage is set to DOCS

The result is that upon login, the user automatically goes to the documentation page and there is no link for them to navigate anywhere else in the site. If they go to mysite.com, they get redirected to mysite.com/docs.

This is exactly what I want except for one thing, they can still access all the following by manually inputting the url.

  • Their own profile
  • People and space directory
  • People's activity
  • All other minimum security features

I want to restrict the above so I'm looking for any solution to resolve this.

So I managed a workaround using the Advanced Redirection Plugin and blocking all urls outside of my documentation space.

It's kinda ugly though...
