Catalina Logs Severe Error with Web.xml!

I'm unable to view the WebUI for Confluence, and currently troubleshooting this issue.  Sifting through Catalina logs, I see a specific error (shown below), indicating that a syntax error in web.xml may be the root cause; preventing WebUI Access.

After thoroughly searching the web.xml file, it appears that every opening tag <filter-name> is properly closed with a closing tag </filter-name>.   I've used a text editor to view each instance of 'filter-name' and have personally verified proper tag closure.

Has anyone ran into this issue, or can anyone provide any guidance?
