Take control of how you see pages to find them faster

Hi Community,

Do you ever wish you could sort the page tree to make it easier to find the page you’re looking for?

Now you can change how you view the pages in a space to see the ones updated most recently or by page title!

Select ••• next to Pages in the sidebar to see your options.

Views only apply to you and that specific space

When you select a view, it will update the page tree only for you and only in that space. It won’t impact what others see in the sidebar.

The best part is that when you find the perfect view, that view persists until you change it. So if you want to sort pages in a space alphabetically, the pages remain sorted that way whenever you return to the space.

Clear the view with one click

When you apply a view, you’ll see a blue pill reinforcing your choice. If you want to remove the view, click the X button in the blue pill, and your pages will return to the default, hierarchical page tree view.

Give it a try and navigate a space the way you want! Drop your feedback below and stay tuned for more improvements we’re making to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for!

Is this feature cloud only or are there plans to bring it to data center?

Hiya @Clark Everson

This feature is only for Confluence Cloud.  Is this something you'd like to see in data center?  Also curious to know if there are other views that you would find helpful.

This is a good start to the feature but would rather see this on the parent files within a space. Our spaces themselves are usually pretty well organized but the parents inside the space are what get unorganized either due to something automatically creating a page or the different organization patterns of the owners of the space.

I cant see the option on our cloud for the ... maybe it hasn't been deployed yet.

but I'm curious why this wouldn't be a company-wide change and not limited to the user ? Wouldnt it be more productive to have all users have it A-Z ?

@Benjamin Christie Keep an eye out.  You should have it soon.

Because Confluence users span a WIDE variety of types who all like to organize content differently and want to filter and sort in a way that matches their mental model, giving users this control seemed like the best first step.

By the way, each space administrator already has the power to reorder the pages in a space alphabetically in Space Settings. So if you think this method of sorting pages is more productive, you (or the admin) can make it happen!

  1. Go to the space
  2. Select Space Settings in the sidebar
  3. Select Content Tools > Reorder Pages
  4. Expand the page tree, and an AZ sort action appears
  5. Select it

You have the option to undo that change if you'd like.
