Make your Google Slides presentation presentable

Yes, I know, using the iframe macro is not a rocket science but does your presentation look like this?

Or like this?

So here’s how you make your slides

  • presentable

  • internal to your company - protected from the prying eyes of the public internet access

  • Bonus: compatible with Scroll Viewport 🙂 even behind SSO ;)

Steps:

  1. In Google Slides, go File > Share > Publish to web.

  2. Click the Embed tab.

  3. (Optional) To restrict access to a specific group, tick off the box.

  4. Copy the embed code and paste to a text editor (Text Edit on a Mac, for example).
It will look something like this

    <iframe src="https://docs.google.com/presentation/longstringofrandomcharctersE/embed?start=false&loop=false&delayms=3000" frameborder="0" width="960" height="569" allowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true">

  5. Copy everything from https to 3000
    https://docs.google.com/presentation/longstringofrandomcharctersE/embed?start=false&loop=false&delayms=3000

  6. Use that url in your iframe macro.

  7. Play around with the macro settings. My favorites are:

    • Width: 100%

    • Height: 600

    • align middle

    • frameborder hide

    • allow scrolling

    • allow fullscreen

  8. Done

You now have a fully embedded, nice looking presentation that works great full screen and you can enjoy all iframe tools like pen, etc.

BTW, the same method (using extracted embed code in the iframe macro) works with Figma too.

Thanks for sharing @Kristian Klima! Also, I really like your writing style! "Copy everything from https to 3000" is such a great way to describe that task!
