Data protection and confidentiality are hot topics as of late! (Understatement of the century). And as a cloud service provider, it's more important than ever for Atlassian to express our focus on helping customers understand the actions we take to keep data safe.
In this post, I will explain the Atlassian vision for effective and shared security as well as the differences between what we manage and secure vs. what customers are responsible for.

As many in this Community know, Atlassian takes our core values very seriously. Two of those values are “Open Company, No Bullshit” and “Don’t F*** the Customer.” Abiding by these two values mean our security team will always be radically transparent while going above and beyond to garner even more trust in our products and services.
To do so, we’ve posted detailed information about our Security Management Program, responded publicly to the Cloud Security Alliance Questionnaire, posted about how we built our internal controls program and we released a customer guide for shared responsibility for security incidents.
In the coming months, you’ll see more on Atlassian’s Trust site, and you can click here to access our new white paper called “Atlassian Cloud Security Shared Responsibilities.” In the white paper, you will learn more about our commitments to you, where the overlap of shared responsibility exists, and what you can do to help us help you best.
