πŸ“£ Create Whiteboards Directly from Automation for Confluence! πŸ¦„

πŸ‘‹ Community! Avinoam from Confluence Automation here again, and this time, I'm super excited to let you know that we now support Whiteboard triggers and actions, as well as templates, to enable you to create whiteboards directly from automation!

What's available and what can you do with it?

Let's start from the templates which are basically a pre packaged set of use cases for you to kick off your use of Whiteboards with automation. The primary use case to to automatically create a whiteboard once a page has been created that related to a certain process that can gain value from having a whiteboard involved, for example: Whenever a page is created related to "Roadmap" add a child Whiteboard to it as part of brainstorming in the process.

Once you land in Automation for Confluence, you can quickly search for "whiteboard" and as part of the Collaborate category you'll see three new templates highlighting the following use cases for systematic whiteboard creation:

Built-in AI

You'll notice once you click into any of the templates that we've already included the AI Condition to find any related content in the title of the page. If you want to broaden this approach you can change it to look for related content in the page body, and of course if you're looking for a 1:1 match you can change this condition to the smart value condition.

What about triggers?

An example use cases here can be to make sure the right folks can jump in on brainstorming and collaboration by creating a rule that when a whiteboard is created by someone who's in the product management group to send a slack to the team channel inviting them to jump in on the brainstorming early on in the project to make sure the right people are involved at the right time.

Brilliant work @Avinoam

Being able to always have whiteboards created under X circumstances is brilliant. Especially around retros or large project planning.

Wow, this is awesome. I didn't even know about this.

An idea that comes to mind (Confluence, JIRA, Trello, Slack)

  1. When a new whiteboard for a project is created, trigger the creation of a Jira project.
  2. Automatically populate the new project with initial tasks and assign them to team members.
  3.  Create a Trello board with lists corresponding to the Jira sprints and automatically import the Jira issues as Trello cards.
  4. Send a notification to a project-specific Slack channel with a link to the Confluence whiteboard, Jira project, and Trello board.
  5. Some webhooks, scripts, templates, and this could be amazing cross-tools.

Any other interesting flow that you would suggest? Would like to book the time and chat.
