📣 Automation for Confluence - Now Available to End Users! 🎉

👋 Avinoam for Automation for Confluence here.

I am super excited to announce that as of today we’re bringing Automation for Confluence to end users as well!

With this feature, end users will be able to trigger a specific action (pre-defined and set up by their space/site admin) from the Confluence page header. Admins will additionally be able to create additional manual triggers and manage those than appear to end users on Confluence pages.

What will it look like in Confluence for all users?

For all Premium & Enterprise users we’ve added an automation lightning bolt icon to the right of the comment icon.

What will it look like for Admins in Automation for Confluence?

• In the automation rule builder,  "Manual triggers from page" is available as new a trigger

• In the component configuration panel, admins can customize whether they want to prompt end users for input when the manual rule is triggered using:

  • short text

  • paragraph

  • drop down

  • number

  • checkbox

When will it be available?

It's already available to all Premium and Enterprise Admins and their Confluence users!

So is this just a new feature for end users of Premium and Enterprise? Is it going to be available to Standard plan users in the future?

it makes is sound like it will be available to ALL users. If this is only for Premium and Enterprise, please make a clear statement to that effect at the top of the article. Please ask your fellow Atlassian Product Managers to do the same.

No concrete plans as of yet to make this available to Standard, but we'll absolutely keep you posted on our plans as always!

LOVE these new automation capabilities.

I wanted to ask about the smart values: I see there are "page.author"'s but no "page.owners" listed in the documentation.

Can we use page owners vs authors as a smart value when customizing automated email notifications, for instance, when a label is added to a page?

Honestly, the ability to open a dialogue to take in user input as smart values would be a really useful action component in the rule builder.

You could create some really powerful processes.
