Hey everyone! As we’ve started to roll out Fabric to customers bit by bit (if you don’t have yet, it’ll arrive over coming weeks), we thought we’d share some ideas for how to use the tool in its current state.
As a new product in Alpha (getting help by y’all to shape its direction!), Fabric currently provides more value with specific use cases. As we add more bells and whistles (e.g. connector lines, shapes, etc), the number of use cases will expand.
That being, said, Fabric in its current state can be powerful to run agile-specific sessions. Some examples:
🤔 Retros → Use one of the two retro templates. Add sticky notes for ideas and stamps to vote. Then convert action items to Jira using Jira issue create!
🧠 Brainstorming → Use of of the brainstorming templates (or start from a blank whiteboard). Drop in some links to provide additional context. Most links will unfurl as a rich Smart Link! Next, use sticky notes to drop in some ideas. Vote with stamps, then convert the best ideas to Jira issues using Jira issue create.
🎯 Prioritization → Use the prioritization template. Drop in some links to provide data points about what you’re prioritizing. Use sticky notes or existing links to Jira issues to map out your priorities on the prioritization matrix. If you don’t already have Jira issues created, use Jira issue create to put your new priorities into Jira.
There’s a whole host of other things you can do. These are just some simple ideas. Drop a comment if you have any questions or ideas!
P.S. We’ve started work on shapes, connector lines and send to back/front. We’ll also be starting work on a lock feature so you can lock down elements on a whiteboard.
For those of you who have already tried the product, please let us know what you think!
Cheers,
Jonno | Fabric Product Lead
