Is there a launch date for the general release of Whiteboard or an ETA besides early 2024?
And is there a need for additional testing of Whiteboard in Beta?  If so, how can we participate?

February 8, 2024

@Sean Rodgers welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Atlassian announced that Whiteboards will be GA as of 2/29/2024. The beta is closed, but it's a few short weeks until GA.

Below is the text from the announcement - I hope this helps!

Beginning February 29, 2024, Confluence whiteboards will transition out of beta and progressively become generally available to all Confluence customers. This will happen over a number of months with customers who use Data Residency and/or Back‑up & Restore receiving the experience later in this roll out. We appreciate your support during the beta phase. There is no action required to continue using Confluence whiteboards on your current plan.

For customers on the Confluence Standard plan, we will be introducing new limits to your whiteboards experience, including:

Board limits: you will have access to three active whiteboards per user (unlimited whiteboards are available on Premium and Enterprise plans).

Advanced features: select features such as smart sections and smart connectors will only be available on Confluence Premium or Enterprise plans. For customers who have used these features in beta, existing smart sections and smart connectors will still show. Users won't be able to create new ones.

For a full overview of the changes, see our help center documentation.

Managing your whiteboards

If a user has exceeded the limit of three active whiteboards, the last three boards created will remain active. Whiteboards created before the last three boards will become read‑only. This ensures that users can still access and view their most recent work while managing their whiteboard usage efficiently.

If you'd like to use whiteboards without limitations, Confluence provides several paid plans that unlock board limits and enable advanced features in Confluence whiteboards. To manage your account settings and maintain unlimited access to Confluence whiteboards after February 29, 2024, admins can make changes to their plan in the admin settings.

To minimize any disruption to your current workflows, all changes will take effect starting February 29, 2024. No action is required on your end. If you have any questions or concerns about your new Confluence whiteboards experience, we encourage you to explore the updated documentation and resources available.
