October is here and so are some new whiteboards features!

Hi Whiteboards Community!

We have lots of exciting news about features we’ve shipped over the last couple of months. Give them all a try and let us know what you’re still waiting for!

🙋🏻‍♀️ Voting

This feature is one that I’m super excited to get out to all of you to enhance your discussions and decision-making during white-boarding sessions. You can:

• Initiate a voting session

• Cast your votes on sticky notes

• End the session

• Review results and see who’s voted for what

We have a few iterations coming soon for this feature including anonymous voting and marking yourself as done!

👀 Follow User

We’ve made working together on a whiteboard even easier - you can now follow other users around the board by clicking on their avatar. This feature will help you to stay on the same page as your team mates (or part of the whiteboard!) so that you know you’re looking at the same sticky notes.

🔗 Hyperlinks

Something we’re also super excited to be making available is hyperlinking in text, shapes and sticky notes.

🔲 Borders

You can now have borders (dashed or solid!) on all of your shapes, in an array of colours.

😍 Delightful Reactions

Sometimes work can be well.. just work. So we’ve extended our delightful reactions to comments on whiteboards to bring a little bit of joy to your day. No more still thumbs ups, static smiley faces or lonely hearts, now when you react to comments on whiteboards, those emojis will exuberantly bubble up. Express yourself and get a little dopamine boost!

These are great. Thanks for this. I'm very much a fan on Whiteboards.

The only thing holding other users from moving here from Miro and Draw.io is the lack of control over routing the lines that join shapes on our more complex diagrams.

Some users have also got frustrated with shapes not layered as expected with nested sections, although I have not had that issue.

I cannot see the voting feature and it's something I am really looking forward to getting.  This reads like something has been shipped, is there any more information about it.  one question I do have is will it allow a person to vote more that once for a particular item as we allow that if they really want to discuss something

Great additions to the growing feature set! I'd wish for more functional features (grouping and manipulating objects) rather than visual embelishments (animated emoji reactions), but also appreciate that the developmentteam caters for the "feelgood" experience of Whiteboards.

Hey @lynne and @Ralf Münch! Just had a little check, looks like the admins for your instances have enrolled on bundled tracks. This means that your access to voting will come in the next ~2 months as the bundled releases are rolled out, I believe on Dec 10th!

In my opinion, Whiteboard COULD replace Miro. If only it had the functionality to resize multiple selected images at at the same time.

Without this functionality, the workflow becomes extremely slow and bothersome, because each image has to be resized individually. And in a developed Whiteboard containing 50 or more images, that's a lot of time lost trying to organize a board.

It was be great feature. We already try it for many times but it look like still does not support multiple language when we try to comment with the our language. Not sure for a plan to support this.

The whiteboard taking the right steps to a fully useful tool, I'm using it for retro, and with voting the only thing missing is a privacy mode. In retro it is often used that participants should add they input without being biased by the others. As example from Retrium the privacy with a timer and then release to open when done to share, then start privacy on next topic.

Still astounds me that there is no marker / paint option. Have the developers never used an actual whiteboard in real life, this is really holding back adoption

Resize of text by choosing font size will be great! Also, for multiple selected cards together.

Love these features ! still hanging out for a migration tool to bring across live Miro boards as this is a massive blocker for us. Any updates ?
